Joseph Zobel high school is an institution of near the city of thoraille. The name of the school, comes from Joseph Zobel who was a famous Martinican writer and artist. He is best known for his novel « la rue cases nègre ». It was first opened in the school year 1991-1992. Joseph Zobel high school is in « Rivière Salée » in the south of « Martinique » between « Ducos » and « 3 ilets ». It has an area of 3 hectares. It was built to improve teaching dotions in the south and to unload the  other schools of the area originally built to welcome 700 students, the school is now attended by 1200 students.
