Winter Paralympic Games 2018

Paralympic games gather athletes in situation of physical,mental and visual disability of every country for sporting events. These games were created so that everybody can take part in the Olympic games.

The Winter Paralympic games of 2018 took place from 9 to 18 march at Pyeongchang in South Korea. It’s the second time that the games have taken place in South Korea.

There are 6 sports mixed or not : the Biathlon, the Curling in wheelchair, Hockey on sled, alpin skiying, Cross-country skiying and snowboard. All in all, there are 80 tests.

570 athletes coming from 49 countries (America, Asia and Europe) took part in this XII edition of the Winter Paralympic games. The country « top ten » was:

1-The USA with 13 golden medals, 15 silver medals and 8 bronze medals

2-Neutrals athletes with 8 golden medals, 10 silver medals and 6 bronze medals

3-Canada with 8 golden medals, 4 silver medals and 16 bronze medals

4-France with 7 golden medals, 8 silver medals, 5 bronze medals

5-Germany with 7 golden medals, 8 silver medals, 4 bronze medals

6- Ukraine with 7 golden medals, 7 silver medals, 8 bronze medals

7- Slovaquie with 6 golden medals, 4 silver medals, 1 bronze medal

8- Belarus with 4 golden medals, 4 silver medals, 4 bronze medals

9- Japan with 3 golden medals, 4 silver medals, 3 bronze medals

10-Netherlands with 3 golden medals, 3 silver medals, 1 bronze medals
